Turn a picture of your dog, your product or your face into a die-cut sticker. The tool cuts the subject out of its background, wraps it in a clean white border and gives you a print-ready file, all on your own device.
How the image-to-sticker cut-out works
The tool samples the colours around the edge of your photo and treats the most common one as “background”. It then spreads inward from every edge, clearing pixels that are close to that colour, and stops when it hits your subject. That is why a plain, contrasting background gives a clean result, and why a subject touching the edge of the frame can get clipped.
The white border is made by tracing the outline of what is left and growing it outward by the width you choose, like the white margin a sticker printer leaves around a die-cut. That border is also where the blade cuts, so small cutting drift never reaches your photo.
Tips for a clean sticker outline
- Shoot against a plain wall, a bedsheet or a sheet of paper in a colour your subject is not wearing.
- Crop so the subject fills the frame but does not touch the edges.
- Already have a transparent PNG (from a design app)? Switch off “Remove background” to keep it exactly as it is.
- For a sticker with a coloured outline, like the “sticker border” effect in messaging apps, change the border colour.
Questions people ask
How do I turn a photo into a sticker?
Upload the photo, let the tool remove the background, set the white border width and size, then download the 300 DPI PNG. Print it on sticker paper and cut around the border by hand or with a cutting machine.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Background removal and the die-cut border are calculated in your browser with the canvas API. The photo never leaves your device.
Why is some background left behind?
The cut-out works by removing colour similar to the edges of the photo. Busy or low-contrast backgrounds confuse it. Raise the tolerance, or photograph the subject against a plain wall or sheet of paper.
Can I add text to my photo sticker?
Yes. Press “Add text in the editor” to open the cut-out in the full sticker maker, where you can add curved text, icons and a different shape.
What photos make the best stickers?
A single subject (a pet, a person, a product) that fills most of the frame, is in sharp focus, and stands against a plain background. At least 900 pixels on the longest side gives a sharp 3 inch sticker at 300 DPI.
