Tips that make it print well
- Put the product name biggest, the brand second, and weight or volume clearly on the front.
- Food, cosmetics and candles often have labelling rules (net weight, ingredients, warnings). Check the rules where you sell. In the US, the FDA covers food and cosmetics labels.
- Candle labels need heat- and oil-resistant material: choose waterproof vinyl or polypropylene, not paper.
- Keep text at least 3 mm from the edge so the cut never touches it.

What is the best material for product labels?
Paper labels suit dry goods. For anything that gets wet, oily or chilled (candles, bath products, drinks) use waterproof vinyl or BOPP polypropylene with a laminate.
Can I add a barcode?
Upload a barcode image as a layer with background removal switched off. Keep it at full size and high contrast so scanners can read it.
How big should a jar label be?
Measure the flat or gently curved area of your jar and leave a few millimetres clear at the top and bottom. Regular-mouth mason jar lids take a 2.5 inch circle; wide-mouth lids take 3 inches.
